​MEET Prof. Minna Isomursu

Minna has been working on health and retail services
in an international level, authoring over 100 peer reviewed publications, which have over 1200
citations. She is currently part of several EU initiatives on digital healthcare services such as the H2020 MSCA CHESS ITN, the EIT Digital Ai-Move and the ENJECT COST Action. She has supervised three finished PhDs, and currently supervises seven active PhD students. She has been an opponent of eight PhD theses for different universities in Europe. She works closely with the seven postdoctoral researchers in the group, presently directly supervising two. She has successfully attracted both national (several TEKES and Academy of Finland projects and Danish Ministry of Science project) and international (EU FP7 GALILEO, H2020 MC ITN, ITEA,
several AAL JP projects) funding. Moreover, she has an extensive record on company collaboration through contract projects, for instance, with the telecommunication sector (e.g. Nokia) and health sector (e.g. Terveystalo). She has been vice chair of the board of retail chain Arina (part of S-group), a board member and a founding member of health technology start-up BabyWellness. She is an external expert for EU DG for Communication, Networks, Content and
Technology for project reviews and evaluations. Her group is composed of a multidisciplinary team with members who work in interaction design, and service design among others. Professor Isomursu has organized workshops in scientific conferences (e.g. EAI Pervasive health), collaborative projects (e.g. H2020 CHESS) and research networks (COST action
ENJECT)

​MEET Maria Karampela, MSc

Maria is a PhD Fellow at IT-University of Copenhagen. She has interdisciplinary education in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science and Humanities. She has published journals and conference papers regarding personal health data addressing accessibility challenges from the perspective of healthy individuals and patients with chronic conditions (such as cancer patients).

 

Her latest publication is a Systematic Mapping study of Personal Health Data in International Journal of Medical Informatics. She has been working among other positions in healthcare industry improving end-users’ technical support.

Maria has a six-year experience in education and learning activities.
She holds a specialization in active methods in adult education, such as flipped learning
approaches and game-based learning.

​MEET Dr. Talya Porat

Talya is a lecturer at Imperial College London, Dyson School of Design Engineering. Her research is in the fields of human factors, human-computer interaction, usability and cognitive engineering.

She is particularly interested in how to design and evaluate effective interactive healthcare interventions and technologies to improve patient outcomes and reduce medical errors.

She is currently leading the human factors research in EPSRC CONSULT project. She is responsible for the engagement of stakeholders, design and evaluation of interventions aiming to help patients with chronic conditions to self-manage their morbidities, by using wireless sensors and integration with the electronic health records system.

Talya teaches various courses and workshops at Imperial College London.
These include leading the module ‘Human Factors and Organisations’ for MSc Patient Safety, at the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgery and Cancer and the module ‘Context in Design’ for undergraduate students at Dyson School of Design Engineering.

​MEET Vasiliki Mylonopoulou, MSc

Vasiliki is a PhD candidate / Early Stage Researcher and Marie Curie Fellow at University of Oulu, Finland. In her short career, she published several articles in international conferences and journal, and participated in the organization of workshops. Her background is in Human-Computer Interaction and currently she works
on health behavior change supportive technology that motivates people through visualizing their relation between their data and the data of others. She also participates in Ai-Move project in the domain of health seeker motivation and experiences with the
system.

Vasiliki has organized workshops in MindTreck a multidisciplinary, transectoral conference; International Workshop on Participatory Health Informatics an
international transectoral, multicultural, and multidisciplinary conference; and Nursing
Informatics (supporting the main organizer during the workshop) an international multidisciplinary conference.
